In The Lost Variables we have a four track Dub, Blues and Shoegaze influenced EP. This is a temporary departure for Ed as he explored how to merge his myriad sonic influences. It was made using improvised and pre-recorded guitar loops which were then fed through gated plug-ins to create a mutated Blues sound. Layered organ, synth and dub rhythms join the mix with plenty of delay, a nod to 70s Dub producers such as King Tubby.

The EP was mostly created late at night as Ed’s family were sleeping and so the overall presentation is set as a late night soundtrack for reflection, made all the easier with the accompanying artwork shot at a tropical location.
